They will be LI; after my recent enquiry about LMI, I currently plan to mount 7 bowmen/crossbowmen on a base this size for LMI, in more "shooty" poses if that makes sense.
I really like ... |

You've all been very kind about answering my many questions, I thought I would post some pix to show that I'm actually working on any army!
Currently working on Feudal Spanish, here are my troops s ... |

Which troops are you talking about?
I was speaking generally, but I see your point, I guess bows and crossbows are pretty hard to miss, even @10mm.
But it sounds like there aren't really any ... |

Thanks Mark! Helpful, but I'm still a bit mystified LMI...
First, while I understand that LMI can be in regular formations, in principle shouldn't they be in "looser" regular formation ... |

I don't see anything in the rules specifically about basing LMI, so I guess they should be on the same size base as MI? But what about number of figures? Given the "loose" part, it seems l ... |

Not bad idea at all, thanks, I will take a look at how this looks. Also, I'm still looking for 3D-printable pikemen that I like; when/if I find them I might be able to shorten the pikes a bit, which ... |

Thanks a lot for your response, it covers all of the aspects I was considering! I'm new to minis wargaming, so the gaming etiquette issues are a total mystery to me.
Given that any given army wo ... |

I thought about doing that, but the pikes I have are rather long and it would look rather odd. |

I'll be building some armies which feature optional pavise units. What is the best way to base pavises? I would hate to have to resort to two bases for a unit, one with pavises and one without, but ... |

Hi, not sure if this is the best subforum for questions about basing, but I didn't see anything better!
I'm looking to build some Macedonian/Successor armies, and had planned to base the phalanxes ... |

Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm too lazy and untalented to make diorama-style bases, and for me using larger figures would be rather jarring.
I forgot to mention that another goal is to keep ... |

I'm just getting started collecting, painting, and basing my first armies! I'm doing 10mm and have a question about basing commanders: for some reason it offends my sensibilities to have a couple of ... |

Depends on how flexible you want to be. If you want to be able to be able to run the spear as spear without mixing then one troop type per base.
Which is good future proofing for trying different lis ... |

Thanks; I'm actually going with 10mm, so I'm considering putting two ranks on each of the 40mm x 20mm or 40mm x 15mm base, but haven't decided yet. |
