The L'Art de la Geurre Meet and Greet League officially came to an end yesterday. I am pleased at the turnout we have had for the last two months. There were several new faces (new to our group anyway), and we had great enthusiasm from the newer players! Brendan Larson and his Romano-British are coming along very nicely! I myself spent this time relearning how to plays this game with a new army, and have come away with a better understanding of the game, and what suited my playing style.

My Parthian army ended the league with a respectable 2 wins, 2 draws, and 3 losses, I missed one Saturday's gaming due to a scheduling conflict. All 3 losses, 1 win, and 1 draw were against Sassinad Persians (which seemed to be the most popular army during the league with 4 players fielding this army). So I have had plenty of time to work out tactics for dealing with elephants. And I learned how to win against a very large army, (Spartacus slave revolt), which can be very intimidating when it covers the field, yikes!

I want to extend my thanks to all of our participating players, the various forums and groups that allowed me to post our weekly activities, and support from those who couldn't be there, but offered words of encouragement nonetheless. There are plans already in the works for a new league event, as well as monthly gatherings. I will continue to network and try and make more local gamers aware of this great game, and keep trying to draw out the veterans who haven't been out much beyond their small enclaves to join us in building this community.

To conclude the league, there will be a tournament on Saturday, November 9th, at the Portal gaming store in Manchester, Connecticut. Starting time is 11:00 am. there will be a $10.00 tournament entry fee, which goes right back to prize support for the event. This will be an open format event, 200 AP armies. questions about this event, participating in the tournament, or army lists can simply be made replying to this post.
