Hi,
The rules (p 29) say HI that “starts its movement in the operational zone†can move 3 UD. The Operational zone is defined as “4 or more UD from an enemy.†Note it does not say “more than 4 UD from an enemyâ€.
However the QRS says “3 UD in open terrain if starts it’s movement more than 4 UD from enemy.†Note it does not say “4 or more UD from enemy.â€
So can HI that start exactly 4 UD from the enemy (say because enemy shooters moved up to exactly 4 UD away to shoot it last turn) move 3 UD? Is one of these a mistranslation or do we go with the rules?
IMO this can be a big deal as being able to move 1UD from the target means:
1. You have a better chance of catching evades than if at 1.01 UDs, and
2. If you are approaching LMI bow there is not enough room for MI swordsmen to interpenetrate the LMI and yet remain out of combat this bound. (MI, being 1 UD deep, will contact the HI that are exactly 1 UD in front of the LMI.
