2021 PRATO TOURNAMENT - ITALIAN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
DEAR FRIENDS, AFTER AN UNLUCKY 2020, HERE WE ARE AGAIN FOR THE ANNUAL APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR STEFANONE!
In 2021, the tournament in Prato (Firenze) will be valid as Italian Team Championship (open to all foreign teams), AdlG V4, in a single round.
The tournament will not be valid for the Italian Individual Championship and will not be registered on the AdlG website.
The tournament will take place on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 November, with 6 games, 4 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.
SO IT WILL BE FUNDAMENTAL ON SATURDAY MORNING TO START AT 8,40 WITH EXTREME PUNCTUALITY....

Magister Arbiter playing MIKIMOTO THE GREAT, as well as creator of the formula!

The tournament will be in 15mm, with lists of 200 points.
Teams must be formed by 3 players.
It will be possible to register individually or in pairs, the organization will contact the incomplete teams to form an even number of teams of 3 players.
The formula of the tournament will be the following:
Each Team will have to present 3 lists, chosen one for each of the 3 historical periods, associating a player in a fixed way to each of the 3 lists.
Each team must have a NAME and it would be really nice if they would present a jersey with the colors of the team.

PERIODS:

Classic from 3000 BC to 476 AD;
Dark Age from 477 AD to 999 AD;
Middle Ages from 1000 AD to 1500 AD

They should not be present, but in any case in the Dark Age period the use of Medium or Heavy Knight is not allowed.
Since some lists could belong to 2 periods, in any case a list (number) can be chosen only once.
E.g. list 109 - Sassanid Persian (224 - 651 AD) can be used by a team either in the Classic period or in the Dark Age, but not both.
You can use all the Allies provided, if available in the year chosen for the list presented, with the same limitations as above.

Challenges between teams will follow the following rules:
The first game will have an initial "ranking" done by adding up the ELO of the 3 players.
Starting from the team with the lowest ELO of the 3 players, the teams will choose their opponent among the teams higher than them in the ranking. A chosen team will naturally be skipped and will move on to the next one, until the teams are exhausted.
From the second game onwards, the classic Swiss pairing system will be used, avoiding matches that have already taken place.
Being a team competition, if possible we will try to avoid clashes between players of the same City/Club; however in the challenges of the first match, IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE TO CHALLENGE A TEAM OF THE SAME CITY OR CLUB.

The clashes of the single games will be OPEN, and not necessarily between armies of the same historical period.

There will be an initiative roll (sum of the initiative of the 3 lists plus a D6) to decide the team that will have the first choice. The team among the 2 with less points in the ranking (or lower ELO, in the first game) will add +1 to the dice.
The team that wins the initiative will decide which of their players to submit and the other team will decide their opponent. It will then be the turn of the team that lost the initiative to present one of the two remaining players and the team that won the initiative will decide its opponent, the third pairing will of course be between the 2 remaining players.

The score that will be awarded in each match will be as follows:
1 point for each BP inflicted on the opponent;
5 points for breaking the opponent without breaking himself.

Pyrrhic victory: for example a game between two armies (Pyrrhus) of 27 BP and (Romans) of 20 BP won by Pyrrhus but lost 26 BP will give a result of 26 points for the Romans and 25 points (20 for BP + 5 for the victory) for Pyrrhus.
This rule should make the game more balanced and faster, and favor offensive battles, penalizing draws without fighting and enhancing armies often not used because they are too small.
The final score of the battle will be naturally given by the sum of the points of the 3 players.

Will follow communication for hotel accommodation and other technical notes......START TO FORM THE TEAMS THAT THIS YEAR WILL BE A GREAT TOURNAMENT!!!!
