One thing to note is that, despite using a light box, the ambient lighting in my painting room really makes a difference to how the photos turn out. In this set the colours are far more vivid than the previous set because it was really bright when I took these photos.

Are you typing in the bb code, or using the menu item for “fermer les baises “?

  I have found doing the latter sometimes works and the former doesn’t

Thanks but this is due to the forum software's inability to handle the new image format from Google's Blogger platform (unlike more up to date forums). Try it for yourself.

Same link works on LAF, DBA Fanaticus and other forums. See https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=135403.msg1725335#msg1725335 for example.
