We will also organize diner on Saturday evening in the same venue (€12,- for players TBC, €15,- for external TBC), possibly followed by games (like some tournaments used to do pre-covid).

Theme : at the Chtis stratèges, antique is not faked.

EVENT CARDS
Each team will get 4 random (and secret) event cards. Only one card can be played per game. These event cards will bring some tactical advantage but will not win you the game. They spice things up a little bit more.

SCENARIOS
1st game « And there in the midst Achilles stood like the god of war », Homer, Iliad.
Achilles was renown as a warrior by both his friends and foes. Basically, his reputation scared the shit out of all his enemies.
In this scenario, everytime one of your general (attached to a unit or included) kill an enemy unit in combat (not in shooting) while being the main unit in melee (not as support, flank or rear support), you inflict one additionnal point of cohesion loss the opponents’ army. These points add up and will help to rout the opponents’army more quickly.

2nd game « Hannibal ad portas ».
When Hannibal invaded Italy, rumors of his approching galvanized the Romans who knew they could not expect any pity. So cities fortified and raised troops to try and resist Hannibal.
In this scenario, the lowest-ELO team will see :
- its baggage upgraded to a fortified baggage (for free). So the cohesion point of the army will be raised but if the baggage are taken, the loss of cohesoin point will be for a fortified baggage.
- its weakest general will be upgraded 1 rank (for free). But if this general is killed, the loss of cohesion point will be for the upgraded rank.

3rd game « C’est le Nooord », Welcome to the Sticks
Both armies arrived late in the evening and set camp not far from each other, waiting for sunrise to get at each other. But in the morning a thick fog has fallen in the area.
In this scenrio, both armies use hidden deployment (embushes and flank marches must be written on the deployment sheet). Fog also has an effect on visibility : it is limited to 1UD for shooting. Each turn, before rolling for command pips, the active team must test for visibility. On the 1st turn, a 6 will clear up the fog (for the beginning of the opponent turn). On the 2nd turn, a 5+ will clear up the fog (for the beginning of the opponent turn). On the 3rd turn, a 4+. On the 4th turn and after, a 3+.

4th game « Show no mercy ».
Both armies use hidden deplyment, but no fog this time (embushes and flank marches must be written on the deployment sheet). Teams from the same club may play together.

Challenges : as well as your standard tournament results, here we love our challenges (individual or by team) :
- the Achilles Challenge will reward the player who has killed the most generals (precision for Irish, Belgian and Corsican players : opponent generals that is !)
- the Pyrrhic Challenge will reward the player who has lost the most (of its own) generals
- the Attila Challenge will reward the player who has taken the most baggage (again : opponent’s baggage !)
- the Dagobert Challenge will reward the team who has lost the most baggage
- the Picasso Challenge will reward the team with the nicest army (jury is Gilbert Montagné)

quick message from Patrick, who organised the tournament with the other chtis strateges and was the referee.
some comments might be mine

Allright, the tournament is now finished : everything went well, under a bright sun (thankfully the fridges were full of drinks and beers), with a warm and friendly atmosphere
The umpire did not have much work to do (so he spent most of his days cheering on his clubmates and friends, so all players really)
All the chtis strateges hope that all player came back home safely.

Top 3 teams :
1st: Fredric Bohm & Fredrik Bodin - Sweden
2nd: Jean-Christophe Pollet & Maxime Pichot - France (chtis strateges) (ueah, we could not believe it either !!!)
3rd : Thomas & Jean-Louis Maistriaux - Belgium

Thank you all for your participation and see you next year.
Full results will follow, as well as the results of the challenges

They are very nice people indeed (altought they kept refusing my offer for a beer).
TBH, there were only very nice people this weekend. So i guess this means the Freds are both nice people and good players Idea

winner of the Achilles challenge (player who killed the most generals) is Hugo Tate (can't remember what the reward was...)
winner of the Attila challenge (player who raided the most camps) is Jean-Christophe Pollet (can't remember what the reward was...)
winners of the Picasso challenge (best painted army) are Fredric Bohm & Fredrik Bodin (can't remember what the reward was...)
winner of the Pyrrhic challenge (player who lost the most generals) is Patrice Vachala, he got a med kit as a reward (funny as he is a doc')
winners of the Dagobert challenge (team who lost the most camps) are Jean-Christophe Pollet and me, we got a book as a reward (sort of "fortifications for dummies")

Congrats to all
