Came up in a game yesterday

1. HI spear charged frontally by impetuous knights. Spear then contacted in rear by LI in melee support.

What penalties (if any) do the spear suffer in this example?

2. LH evade into difficult terrain. They roll down on evade move so only move 4UD

How far do they go- 2UD, entering terrain then stop ?

1. The Kn still lose their Impact (but not Furious Charge) and the Sp still get +1 for being charged frontally by mounted. (Sp do not lose their special abilities by being contacted on the rear - see the list of abilities list on page 63, 2nd bullet. They would lose Missile support if they had it though.)

HI Sp = 1 + 1 (Sp contacted frontally by Kn) =2
Kn = 1 + 1 (LI support vs. rear of Sp) = 2 (-1 if an uncontrolled charge…)
Kn have furious charge if they win and armor if they lose.

2. Evading LH may move a max of 1 UD if they start within 1 UD of difficult and roll down (2-1=1). They stop at the edge but do not enter if that is between 1 and 4 UD (inclusive) to their rear.
