I noticed the bottom of p 74 states “A player must place at least two terrain pieces on the battlefield.†This is at the bottom, below all the bullet points and under the bullet point requirement to pick 2-4 pieces (plus a compulsory for the defender).
Does this mean that if an attacker picks 2 but fails to place one of them (due to it not fitting in the sector, twice) that he keeps trying to place it until he succeeds so that he places two? I assume not, but can’t figure out why this line is in the rules otherwise. Or should this be interpreted as “A player must pick and try to place at least two terrain pieces on the battlefield That is does the bit about discarding unplayable terrain features on p 75 trump this two placing piece minimum requirement of p 75? |

If a piece of terrain cannot fit into a particular sector, that piece can be re-rolled for once (as I understand it) Kevin.
We've always played it the 2 pieces of terrain rules as meaning that a player cannot choose/pick less than 2 pieces at the start of the terrain deployment section.
If those pieces end up not fitting or one of them is diced-off, that is outside the 'must place' statement.
But I might be wrong _________________ 'He could have lived a risk-free, moneyed life, but he preferred to whittle away his fortune on warfare.' Xenophon, The Anabasis |

I thought the same as you, Mark. But then since the rules above already talk about picking. 2-4 pieces, do the rules below say you must place 2 pieces? Strange… |

I think this might be a case of "over thinking things" Kevin - which is my prerogative usually _________________ 'He could have lived a risk-free, moneyed life, but he preferred to whittle away his fortune on warfare.' Xenophon, The Anabasis |
