This situation occurred during a friendly game last week.

Previous bound CAT B and the GENERAL had killed a legion. CAT B had stepped forward.

This bound, my auxiliary charged the general in the flank, Impact HC A had charged general in rear, and HC B had charged forward, and contacted CAT B in flank.

Now..., has HC B formed a legal flank charge on CAT B, and can it also provide support for HC A against the GENERAL, being in rear comer to front corner contact with HC B, and side edge contact with the GENERAL.

You don't fight against Generals unless they are included in a unit.

Yes

HC B has hit but cannot conform, so the Cataphract will conform to them next turn. It does support HC A.

Just added some direction arrows and info to diagram

Ref Rules Page 53 diagram top right, does not the generals unit behave like the enemy ZoC ?, and prevent contact ?


And madaxeman, yes it was an included general, and yes he did get blown away in one round , I also had my non-included general with HC A.


1 Questions -

1) If HC B had been farther forward and lost corner to corner contact with HC A, would it cease to give support to HC A ?. I am looking at unit A6 in top diagram on page 51 of the rules, as side edge contact alone is not enough.

the flank contact is not legal and not have a combat ,HC b stay 1mm behind but support the attack vs Cat with General ; this unit have 1 disorder automatic and roll for survive the leader

ok, I am beginning to get confused

1) Do CATS A and C both provide support to CAT B ?

2) Does CAT D provide support to CAT C ?

1 No (p 50 left column bottom part in bold). Unit A does provide support. C does not.
2 Yes (p 50 right column 3rd bullet from the top. Note these 3 bullets are read as "or" not "and")

Ahh ok thanks so presumeably if CAT C had killed LEGION B, it could then support CAT B

Its odd that side to side contact counts but side to rear does not.
