The 4rd edition of the UK's most pasty-tastic v4 L'Art de la Guerre Tournament will again take place in Brixham in the glorious South West of England

Date – 30th November & 1st December 2024 (a bit earlier this year, hopefully we can keep these dates going forward and beat off the attentions of wannabe Christmas Markets!)

Both 15mm & 25/8mm periods on offer
The event is limited to about 50 or so players, so secure your spot soon.
Standard ADLG v4 rules, 200 points, 5 games.
Entry fee is £27.50, to cover the venue and prizes. If we end up with a surplus we'll look to buy everyone a posh donut or something.

The theme for both periods is - astonishingly - a "Devonian" one of:

Armies valid in Dark Age Europe dated between Aethelstan’s expulsion of the Cornish from Devon (in which he condemned what were described by later chroniclers as the “filthy Britons” to forever live west of the Tamar), until Williams "conquest" of Exeter (or more accurately "Exeter's bloodless capitulation") in 1086.

I'm sure you can beg, borrow, steal or - god forbid - buy and paint up something for this period but if you are struggling please let me know as I have enough lead (and plastic) to loan several armies in both scales and themes if needed.

Saturday

9:30 - 11:45 Round 1

Sunday

12:45 - 15:00 Round 5

Prizes and packing away

If we find that all games in any round are concluded within the time limit we will try and crack on and start the subsequent rounds a bit earlier so we can all get away sooner.

If you have a playing mat of the correct dimensions please bring it along!

The astute among you will spot this is a list of 25 players ... We do currently have odd numbers in total across the two periods - although of course there is plenty of time for either a wild-card late entry, or for someone to realise they have forgotten to tell their Significant Other about their jolly to the seaside and have to gracefully withdraw.

If neither of those things transpire, myself and Jason are both planning on taking at least one round of "bye" each, which together with past experience showing that there is often an occasional "volunteer" (especially for Sunday Morning after Saturday Night, or last game on Sunday too) and the fact I'm also bringing an army along for both scales too, should mean that we will be able to keep "involuntary" byes to the bare minimum across the weekend.

(I would also like to personally thank the fleetingly small minority of Komnenan Byzantine-pickers who managed to submit legal lists first time around, by dint of recognising that the "Elite" cavalry are their own troop type rather than an upgrade option that can be applied to some of the 4 compulsory Average and Mediocre ones in the Komnenan list)
