If I'm not mistaken, we have four types of War Wagon:
Mythical - the Indian Rathamasula, some kind reaping machine used to detrunk elephants
Implausible - Cyrus's Towers, great for storming fortresses, but unlikely to be manoeuvred at infantry speed without falling over.
Ineffective - Plaustrella - useless on the table because their targets (knights) can dismount and chop them into firewood, but being Italian it's fashionable firewood.
Mobile - because on one occasion in over 2000 years they're said to have manoeuvred during a battle
And we're worried that they can be countered by actual troops performing historical roles (LH harassing flanks)?
Nah, they're just shiny things put in the rules for fun. Just like Expendables they're more for messing with your opponent's head than for killing his army.
