I might have to try one of these new fangled village on a hill. I think some archers in it may be able to dominate quite a large part of a flank. |

The ‘hill village’ counts as a village for the purposes of terrain selection and placement, but acts as two selections reducing both the number of additional pieces that can be selected and the potential number of terrain adjustments. |
Seems like and ideal choice for an army that wants to minimise terrain and potentially get a strong flank point to pivot on. Hmmm "British" (and others) hill forts spring to mind. |

A few LI in it can be very difficult to evict, certainly the attacker will have to send far more points of troops to force them out. You can place your road through it allowing you to quickly send troops flying out if you desire but very difficult for the attacker to get through. Plus you can have fun with ambushes in it. |

Guys, this option of using a “hill fort†has always been available.
The misunderstanding is that doing this does not require the player to pick a hill as well. Â |

Is it correct that a player in a Forest could choose two hills and a village on a hill using their four selections? |

Seriously ?? - Only the defender can pick the village, so being the defender he gets a compulsory wood.
- This is three terrain choices, but only two hills have been “chosenâ€
- the player has opted to place the village on a hill counting as his fourth terrain pick, so reducing his terrain adjustment dice to zero (unless he has a strategist).Â

"Yes" would have sufficed. - My concern was whether the 3 hills the player has selected violate the no "more than two identical terrain pieces" rule. |
