|
When a Light troop declares a charge against an enemy unit, and to complete it, it has to legally interpenetrate a friendly unit but the space between the friendly unit and the enemy unit is not enough for its base to fit, then is that charge allowed? For example a L.Cv declares a charge against an enemy L.Cv. To complete this the charging L.Cv has to pass through a friendly Kn. The space between that Knight unit and the enemy L.Cv unit is less than the L.Cv's depth. What happens then? Is that charge cancelled, or is it completed and the Knight unit moves back to create the space for the base to fit? In other words is that situation also considered a case of conforming or not? |

Interpretation, adjusting positions p39 answers your question.Â
Basically, as long as the interpretation and charge are legal, then the unit being interpenetrated is displaced to its rear.Â
In this case it is Kn which may not make a subsequent move, but interpenetrated light troops may move later in the turn. |

Thank you Ramses, the reason I posted this question is page 39 about interpenetration. Under the normal rule that interpenetration is not legal, because the rule says that the light troop has to move more forward to clear the base of the heavy, not the heavy to move back. So, if there was the edge of the table, the L.Cv isn't allowed to pass through the Kn, since there is no place to fit by moving itself most forward (due to the end of the table) and the Knight doesn't move back to make space. But for a charge we can allow that, if we see it as a case of conformation (hence my question). |
