The Wargames Association of Reading are happy to be holding the next round of the Sothern League at Winnersh Community Centre New Road, Sindlesham. RG41 5DU (///moved.send.petal) on 26th May 2024.

After a couple years of restrictive themes we are opening it up a bit this year. All Biblical armies (1-37) and American armies (283-300, though no Conquistadors!) will be allowed. Allies must also be from the lists numbered. However, to reduce the chariot Spam All units in the design for chariots are to be halved! i.e. For New Kingdom Egyptian normal chariots list is 4-12 with max 6 elite, for this competition this is set to 2-6 with max 3 elite!

There will be three games provisionally starting at 9:00, 12:00 & 15:00 and they will last 2:30 +/- 10 minutes which will be randomly assigned beforehand. On completion of allotted time “dice down” will be called and the game ends at that point if still going on.
There will be Tea, Coffee, Soft Drink and snacks available on the day and possibly some hot food depending on number booking and other club members at the site. Details will be given closer to the date. There are no shops in the vicinity but Sainsbury’s is about a mile away.

Hello,

No, you have not missed round two. The Central Wargame Club usually hosts the second round in March, but have this year opted to do a Renaissance-themed event instead.
