This is the first round of an open tournament held at Barrage.
Barrage is run by the Harford Area Weekly Kriegspielers, or HAWKS, group about once a year, but this year they stepped up and offered a replacement gaming event in place of HMGS’s Cold Wars. So this is their second event this year.
The main room is full of various miniature gaming scenarios, from major ancient battles, to one on one tactical affairs to the far future engagements.
And they offered out their back room for a L’ Art de la Guerre tournament of which about 16 of us descended on.
I stayed overnight at a local Super 8, which over the years has been run into the ground. But there is a Waffle House near by, and both are only about 2 miles from the Harve de Grace Community Center. Where we dined on food truck cuisine and brought in pizza and sheet cake. What’s not to like?
My first opponent was Mark Cribbs, who was up at 4am to make the drive in from Scranton. He was fully awake being hopped up on road side coffee and cakes.
I brought Samurai to pit against his Vikings
