Should Manfred’s Germans at Benevento (1266) be Heavy Knights Impact (Ordinary only) - and perhaps other Germans in Sicilian service in later on such as those serving Conradin at Tagliacozzo (1268)?
The Germans were noted as initially being impervious to the French as the Germans were wearing new coats of plates, but later on as being overthrown by the superior swordsmanship of the French as they were found to be vulnerable to well aimed sword thrusts - thus heavier armor but lesser elan than the French. |
