|
Hi Guys,
A fairly unlikely occurrence but worth the ask:
You have a group in ambush consisting of 2x MKn and 2x LH.
When you reveal the ambush you chose to dismount the medium knights as you opponent has elephants.
Your group is now 2x HSW and 2x LH which is not a legal group.
So is this ok or would you have to dismount the entire group? |

P77 says the deployed units must form a valid group.
P21 third bullet says   Citation: | For units in ambush or on a flank march, the player can choose to dismount the units at the time of their placement or arrival on the table. |
So I would suggest that the ambush would deploy as a dismounted group, therefore all units would  have to dismount to form a valid group when deployed. |

Thank you - I think this is the most logical answer. |

I would follow the non-ambush deployment process:
1. Deploy
2. Elect to dismount
So you deploy as a legal mounted group, following which you exercise the right to dismount some of your units (and are no longer a single group). |

I prefer Ramses’ solution to Zoltan’s.
I don’t think you deploy ambushes or flank marches mounted and then replace, rather you place them as mounted or dismounted. (But maybe I’m wrong about this…) |
