On May 29, 1453, after a 53-day siege, Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire, fell to the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Mehmed II the Conqueror. Emperor Constantine XI Palaeologus died in combat, marking the definitive end of what had been the Eastern Roman Empire.
A year later, on April 9, 1454, Venice and Milan signed the Peace of Lodi, ending years of war between Italian states... and the Renaissance began.

Dear friends, we present to you the regular annual event of the AdlG V4 Italian Team Championship in a single event, the 2025 Prato Tournament, also valid for the 2025 AdlG V4 Italian Individual Championship.
The tournament will be held on Saturday, November 29th and Sunday, November 30th, with 5 games, 3 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday; The tournament will begin on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM.

Registration for the tournament is individual and must be confirmed by sending the Army List of your chosen army before 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 16th to: stefanosalvaderi.sal@libero.it

The tournament theme will be: CONDOTTIERI e SIGNORI – The Wars in Italy during the Renaissance, using the rules for compiling the lists indicated below, including the allies.
The tournament will be played in 15mm, with 200-point lists and the usual Italian Championship rules.

It will always be possible, by agreement between both players, to use the optional 3D6 and 3 Reroll rules.

The tournament registration fee will be 40 euros, including lunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Later, as in previous years, you will probably be asked to choose the menu for both lunches in advance.

The main referee will be "Mikimoto the Whip," assisted as always by the most experienced players.

The tournament rules will be as follows:
Participants will be divided into two groups according to the official ELO on the AdlG website on November 16, 2025:
Group CONDOTTIERI (half of the players with the highest ELO)
Group SIGNORI (half of the players with the lowest ELO)

For technical reasons, it is necessary to reach a number of players divisible by 4 (4-8-12-16-20-24-28, etc.), so there will be three reserves to manage the correct number of participants.
The teams for the 2025 Italian Team Championship will be formed on Saturday morning; therefore, maximum punctuality is recommended for everyone; Otherwise, there will be no sfogliatelle for latecomers.

The SIGNORI, starting with the player with the lowest ELO, will choose a teammate from the CONDOTTIERI group and a team name.
The names of the teams to be chosen (the great Italian Renaissance families) are indicated below.

A draw will be held for the first match between the teams.
There will be no limit to the number of matches between teams, including in the first match.
Matches between teams will always be SIGNORE vs. SIGNORE and CONDOTTIERO vs. CONDOTTIERO.

Subsequent matches will always be between teams, according to the team rankings, following the rules of the Championship tournaments (Swiss system); obviously, two teams may not face each other more than once.
However, there will be three different classifications: the Team tournament (calculated by adding the two players' points) for the Italian Team Championship, and two individual tournaments for the SIGNORI and CONDOTTIERI Pools, both registered on the site and valid as tournaments for the 2025 Italian Individual Championship.

Therefore, each SIGNORI will have the opportunity to win a Tournament, and each CONDOTTIERO will have the opportunity to play a sort of year-end Masters.

List Composition Rules:
The basic list for everyone is 235 – ITALIAN CONDOTTIERI, choosing a year between 1330 and 1520 AD. Everyone may use a Strategist Commander (a Mythical Condottieri) if they wish.
One Ally is mandatory.
Everyone may use list 241 – FREE COMPANIES as an ally - between 1357 and 1444 AD (without the option: In Germany before 1400).

The lists specific to a State provided in the Army List can be used (Papal States, Venice, Naples, Florence, Milan, Genoese in Cyprus); in this case, the allies provided for these States can also be used (e.g., the Albanians in Naples).

If the list with the Genoese in Cyprus option is used, list 264 – MEDIEVAL CYPRUS – from 1373 to 1464 AD can always be used as an ally.
If only the basic list is used without adding a State (i.e., Condotta only) provided in the Army List:

All can use list 241 – FREE COMPANIES – from 1357 to 1444 AD as an ally. C. (without the option: In Germany before 1400)
Everyone can use list 231 - SWITZERLAND - between 1400 and 1453 AD as an ally.
Everyone can use list 240 - KINGDOM OF NAVARRE - between 1377 and 1430 AD (the only usable option is the Navarre Company in Greece).
Everyone can use list 262 - CATALAN COMPANY - between 1330 and 1388 AD as an ally.

In any case, all lists may have a second ally using list 241 - FREE COMPANIES between 1357 and 1444 AD (without the option: In Germany before 1400); In this case, the point limit for each ally will be only 60 points (for a maximum of 120 points) and not 80.

Therefore, it will also be possible to have two 241 - FREE COMPANIES allies, obviously separate.
Non-allied generals cannot be unreliable.
