As we now have: MF bow swd + MF longbow swd, it seems appropriate to extend the troop type to cover another couple of historical troop types.
1). MF crossbow swd - these should appear in the #268 Besieged Byzantine list as an option for the Cretan volunteers, that are currently Bowmen elite - but were actually crossbow and axe armed by this date. These could also appear in list #235 Condottieri (Venetian) list - after 1450 - again just 0-2 would be adequate
2). MF handgun swd - these should appear in the #235 Condottieri (Milanese) list - after 1490 - again just 0-2 but as (mediocre) as they were a militia, dual armed with polearms and handguns.,(Note - it was not a very successful experiment!).
3). Whilst we are at it, the #277 Indonesian and Malay list should have the option for Javanese armies (only) to replace some of the 2-8 bowmen in the list with: 2-4 of them being allowed to convert to MF bow swd (mediocre). This represents the fact that whilst the Javanese had a large and powerful bow, they were primarily swordsmen, with the bow being secondary.
Just a thought
Cheers
