Not on my blog just yet, but I thought I'd share some WIP. Pecheneg light horse archers for Byzantine auxiliary troops. This is an unvarnished test piece from Tin Soldier.
It's a one piece casting which required cleaning mainly in the undercuts (which are ambitious). There are some places that are awkward to reach with a brush. The horse furniture is inscribed rather than proud: this is the first time I've painted horses like this.
Overall it's nice figure. Good face and hands. Even so, I'm pleased I only need four. |
