We weren't 100% sure in a game yesterday so I thought I would post.

Can the Thracian Medium Swordsmen charge the Cavalry in the flank?

what were you thinking why they might not charge? Maybe your thoughts lead us to a problem we dont see....

We were not certain we were reading the rule correctly and when we looked at the diagram on p. 51 none of the elements seemed to quite cover this case (part of front edge of flank attack unit in front of the extended front edge of the target).

In that diagram:

B1 is clear - the entire unit is in front of the extended front edge.

B2 is clear - the entire front edge is behind extended front edge.

C1 is clear - it is partially to the front.

So we were looking for something (as in the picture posted) that mixed B1 and B2. We thought it was probably able to attack the flank, but wanted to check here to make sure there wasn't something we were missing.

Ah ok....this happens to us in the games sometimes too...we look at the diagramms and somehow do not believe in what seems obviously... Very Happy

some cases are a just as simple as they are....
