I see in the list they are armed swordsmen and bow, I take it this means they fight with both to full effect, with no detriment to troop class.

i.e., they are not a mixed unit.

And yes, they fight like swordsmen, without penalities.
And they shoot like bowman, with full power.
You have the same troops , as samourai or highlanders.
And yes, they are not like mixed troops.
