A knight charges the side edge of an enemy knight, but its not a flank charge (didn't start behind flank). Directly to the front of the enemy knight there is a friendly Cv, and to the side of that, with a 2cm gap, a friendly LC. The LC is 1cm from the table edge.
I assume the charging knight tries to conform to the front edge of the enemy knight if it can (is this right, as P52 can be read that corner to corner contact is enough?). If it conforms to the front edge the Cv and LC will be displaced but the LC would go off table. P52 says conforming is mandatory unless it forces a unit to leave the table, so the knight won't conform. Or does it conform as far as it can until the LC touches the table edge? |

The knight has to conform as far as it can, pushing the LC up to the maximum. _________________ "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead"

Page 54 "Unable to conform".
As it is not a flank charge the knight does not have to conform properly if it cannot.
The enemy knight will attempt to conform on its' players move. |

The most recent FAQ clarifies that you conform "as much as possible" if you can't fully conform. |
