1) Hvy arty can wheel on its center point but can you do this while it is behind and touching a fortification since the corner will be over the fortification. I always moved the arty a little bit back so it continued to touch the fortification. Is this correct?
Can this still be done if there is a fortification also covering the side?
2) If the above arty can pivot how do you measure the firing angle? The rule says that you measure from the front of the Fortification but if you use the angle from the fortification it comes up with a little extra distance with the 2UD wide shooting zone |

p60 last bullet, the artillery can pivot on its center and stay under fortification cover, as far at it stay in contact with the fortification. Any ennemy considering the fortification for conformation. Fiiring is mesured from the artillery unit _________________ "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead"

On the french forum ( index règles) you find a memo explaining the question of artillery firing behind fortification. Unfortunatly this memo is not translated in English yet, but i Hope that will happen soon for it and all the others memos. _________________ patrick lefebvre

Look forward to this memo being translated.
One item that is unclear even in the French version.
When artillery pivots, where does it measure the range from its front edge?
Normally artillery measures range from the front of fortifications. But when it pivots its corners count for if in arc, does its range revert to the unit base? |

I have played it such that you assum the 40 x 40 base does not move but rather the artillery piece on said base turns.
Geometry fixed now just indicate the direction the gun is facing with a measuring stick at all times.
