Not sure if this should be here or in rules, but a friend and I are having a disagreement about an entry in the (#220) Swiss list on page 199 that I'd like to get cleared up.
The list includes 2-4 LI Crossbow with an After 1400 option to Replace some crossbowmen by handgunners with 2-4 (optionally elite) LI Firearm.
My reading of this is that up to 4 crossbow can be upgraded to firearms. His reading is that the 'some' means that you can only upgrade half of them. How are other people interpreting this?

According to the original french text that mean you must upgrade at least 2 crossbowmen and you may upgrade up to 4 (max number). optio to be upgraded to elite for any or all.

There is no restriction of "some" that denotes half.
Some people breath. Clearly that means all people.
But the numbers are clear.
At least 2 must and up to 4 may. And any of the Hand gunners may be elite. |
