PAGE PAGE 56 .
A unit charged on its flank or rear except by light troops .has its basic factor reduced to ZERO.
If it already is DISORDERED got its BASIC FACTOR -1.
SO //a unit already disordered that attacked on its flank will have ...basic factor -1 /plus -1 MODIFIER for the disorder?
SO IT WILL PLAY WITH -2?

No an unit attack in the flank has a basic factor of 0, if disordered, (before the contact or due to the flank contact) it is -1. Not -2 . It could be -2 for example if mounted unit panicked by camels. It can be worse if also in bad terrain. _________________ "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead"

The unit fights at -1, not -2. Its basic factor is set to 0 because of the flank attack, then it gets a -1 for being disrupted. There is only a single -1 , no matter how many chips the unit has accumulated. Doesn't matter whether it got the chips before receiving the charge or as a result of fighting to front and flank.

Agree that BASIC FACTOR if disordered is -1.
my question was that would the TOTAL units factor,, not the basic ,,be -2 ?cause of disordered unit modification?? |

No
if you take a Pike unit in good terrain, its basic factor is +2.
The same pike but attacked by an ennemy on its flank will have a basic factor at +0.
If disordered cause previous result, there is a -1 additionnal to the basic factor, so 0 -1= -1
After that you check the factors for situation (flank attack); support and terrain.
If the pike had been in rough and charged on the flank by a MI while figthing two others, the factor will be 0 (basic) -1 (disordered) -1(flank attack) -1 (supporting MI) -2 (terrain) so -5 vs the +1 of the MI... a differentiel of 6 factors... _________________ Audentes fortuna iuvat. |
