Take the situation of two war wagons forming a group with their short edges in contact, with one wagon contacted on its long edge by a group of three enemy units, one of which is a cormer contact only (see below where WW and XX are the war wagons, attacked by enemy units A,B and C).
_WWXX
ABC
My understanding is that WW has been contacted by two units so does not provide a self-support. If the enemy chooses to fight with unit B he gets a support from unit A, whilst wagon XX cannot support WW as its not in any contact with B. Conversly if the attack is made with C both A and XX would provide supports. Is this correct?
Second question. In the war wagons turn can they choose which of B or C they wish to fight, or is it the owning players choice? |

Unit "A" can only bring support if it's in front contact with any side of the WWg (see page 60)
so if B is fighting, neither A nor XX provide a support, but C prevent the WW of having its self-support.
if C is fighting, B prevent the WW of having its self-support, but XX can bring a support.
It's the phasing player that choose the unit that will fight. _________________ Audentes fortuna iuvat. |

Thanks. Forgot the part about p60 (to my disadvantage), but at least we got the rest right. |
