Does deploying a coast stop a road deployment along the long table edge or not?

Ie Due to the 2 UD camp deployment restriction in the deployment area.
A village would give it somewhere to go at the coast end.

While we are with roads.
Village road therefore must it go off short edge only?
Or also off long table edge via non baggage deployment area?

I don't think it does stop it. I wouldn't not object to my opponent having a road that turned to exit the board.

A road from a village can off opponents board edge.

I've always viewed this as you can't run the road along the board edge thus prohibiting the placement of a camp. But having the road exit off the long edge is not prohibited.

Rule is basically don't invent nasty gamey stuff.

I agree you should not be allowed to place a road along the long table edge, thus impacting the deployment of a camp.
(Possibly a clarification for the tech board? Certainly beardy.)

Though most people use straight roads for ease, there is nothing in the rules that requires this. So, absolutely yes, you can turn the road to run it off near the coast. The only constraint is that it must touch two table edges (road, village etc) and be a maximum of 30 UD; so if you do decide to run it straight across the width of the table then it must run parallel with the long edge.
