hi guys
late to the party. just rebased my thematics, not used since 6th edition.
under 6th, this was a very shooty army, with just about every figure armed with a distance weapon. ive noticed, under these rules that there is very few mi bowmen, and wondered why this was the case. also, in the wrg lists, there was a trapezetoi option, lc l and dart. wondering why these had disappeared. |

So I "think" there has been a lot of thinking changing since 6th.
But the Thematics are very good with abundant mounted that is both impact and bow which is very uncommon in these rules.
dart is not really a thing. But I don't know why there are no LC javelin or impact or if there should be.
You will want to run this army as a high maneuver force. |

hmm anyone any idea of an up to date source for the changes? particularly interested in the reasoning behind the lack of bow numbers. under 6th, the core of the army was 48 mixed units of skutatoi and 48 close formation lhi bow with shield. under adlg only 2 bow, although I suspect foot bow aren't as good under the rules. |

That mixed Skutatoi formation in those numbers sounds more like the Nikephorian list, which is the one after the thematic. |
