Do you roll for the river terrain type, and then place the river model or do you place the river model and then roll to see what type of terrain it is?
I've always assumed it was the latter as pg 74 says "when placed", which I've always read as rolling after the model is on the table, but then it says see page 71.

Page 71 says "at the time of its placement on the table" which can easily be argued either way. If you roll first then, in my view, it will effect where the river is placed, so I was wondering how others play it.

Setting up is page 73/74 and this sets the sequence for all terrain placement.
Placed is past tense, so for me, its get your river down and then dice as p71. I've only got two hands after all.

Bet you most people dice during turns one or two as they both missed the requirement to dice earlier.
