(I know it's a bit of a cliché, but I have an old Essex (Peers) army I'm thinking about updating.)

Maybe I'm reading too much into the numbers, but I can't find any guidance.

May the mixed units replacing the halberdiers or crossbowmen replace the minimal units?
I.e. can you run only 4 halberdiers and 2 mixed units; or 2 crossbow and 4 mixed units?
Or is the idea that you must have 4 halberdiers, 2 crossbow, and up to 8 mixed units?

There is no option to replace the guard units with mixed units. Is this an oversight? (if so, can the mixed unit have a pavise?-)

Hi Za,

The Han army has 4 min halberdiers and 2 min crossbow. If you took 6 mixed medium sword // crossbow, you do not need to take any halberdiers or crossbow.

And guards can't be replaced by mixed units.
