The Qin list (80) ends in 206 BC and the Han dynasty list (List 116) does not start until 202 BC, thus there is no list cover the Chu Han conflict between the fall of the Qin and the establishment of the Han dynasty. However, Han Xin is a Strategist in List 80 until 202 BC, showing that perhaps it was intended that list 80 continue until 202 BC. During this period he led armies for Liu Bang (who would go on to found the Han Dynasty) against Xiang Yu’s Chu kingdom and others and subsequently was entered popular imagination as the God of War.
In my opinion the best way to clean this up is:
1. Extend list 80 until 202 BC to cover Xiang Yu and other warlords contending for power after the fall of the Qin but remove Han Xin as a strategist from List 80.
And
2. Extend list 116 back to 206 BC to cover Liu Bang’s Han Kingdom during the Chu Han conflict and make Han Xin (206-202 BC) a strategist in this list. |
