|
When we played this weekend, the question of how to play the first roll for an unreliable or allied general came up.
So, suppose they do NOT roll a 1 on turn 1. Do they keep that roll for CPs or roll again for actual CPs?
(Most of my opponents (4/5) had an unreliable (not even allied) general - seemed quite the gamble which did not pay off for one of them; 35 points of troops out of action for 2 turns! |

The Commander becomes "Reliable". So you keep the roll, and calculate the Command points as usual.
Using an Unreliable / Allied commander can save some points, and the associated risks can be mitigated when deploying the corps. Obviously using an Unreliable commander in a Flank march is more risky as rolling a "1" means the corps has to roll high twice - so this strategy will be considered when creating the army. |

P.80 is clear IMO.
The Unreliable Commander makes their first activation roll which by definition is a roll that determines the corps CP for that turn.
If that first role is “1â€, the corps will have CP (the number being determined by the quality of its commander). However, the corps is now hesitant and essentially can’t spend any of those CP. |
