Round 3 of the ADLG Southern League will be hosted by Wargame Association of Reading on 01 July 2023. This will be a one-day event with three games.

Details of the event are summarised as follows:

Location: Winnersh Community Center

Theme: Norman Conquests

Following on last years theme of Viking invasions this year we will focus on Norman Conquests 1066-1099. The conquests can be UK, Italy & Sicily or to give more scope First Crusade.

Armies to be 15mm scale with a maximum points value of 200 points.

Armies can be list 179 Norman, 188 Kingdom of Sicily or 195 Crusader.

Alternatively, you can be an enemy of the Normans. Enemies must have a comment about fighting Normans in their list description or are named as having fought against one of the three lists above (in this period).

In the UK this is lists 150 Welsh, 157 Scots, 180 Anglo Danish and 187 Scots Isles. For Italy/Sicily 189 Communal Italian, 192 Konstantinian Byzantine, 143 Lombard or 132 North African Arab. For the First Crusade 202 Fatimid Egyptian, 203 Seljuk Turks (Empire only) or 205 Syrian. On the Norman home front there is 149 Armourican Breton and 182 Feudal French.

If you can come up with an alternative enemy please check with the organiser, who reserves the right to reject it or to share it with interested parties.

All armies must be valid for a date between 1066 AD and 1099 AD and for one of the locations.

Facilities There are no shops / fast food outlets within easy walking distance. There should be a coffee van outside the hall, and the club will arrange tea/coffee making facilities. Otherwise its BYO.

Given the dateline of the theme 1066-1099, and the fact that the last date for Normans is 1072, is Anglo-Norman an acceptable army list?

No. Anglo-Normans are not allowed.
