Example:
Cv impetuous is charging a LMI in Rough terrain and luckily wins the combat.
Page 69 says: "Pursuit is mandatory for Impetuous units except...would result in entering terrain that would penalise it in combat." Note "would enter".
But in above example, it has to pursuit, simply because it starts pursuit in Rough, right? |

That would be the way I would read it. I suppose there could be some oddities if pursuit caused the unit to move from one penalizing terrain to a different penalizing terrain.
Another question is whether the pursuit is cancelled or it is mandatory up to the point where it is excused? I think it's up to the point. |

If the CV began the melee in rough terrain, then they are in and would not "enter" in the pursue move, therefor they would mandatorily pursue.
If the CV began the melee not in rough terrain, then pursuit would not be mandatory. |

Thank you. So I got it correct...first general rule pursuit applies, second any exception. As there is no exception for impetuous starting melee in rough/difficult, general rule applies. |
