Hi Alexander.
Yes, there is a temptation to bring in the full Gepid contingent + 1-2 Bulgar HC for some crunch.
Re the 2 Javelinmen idea, would you prefer this to 3 MI Swordsmen? It would also get you an extra LI Bow. So 2 Javelinmen + 2 LI Bow instead of 3 MI Swordsmen + 1 LI Bow. ??
Cheers

Either one is enough to take rough against someone lacking MI. If you opponent has serious MI don’t contest it unless maybe if you are uphill. The MI are more dangerous to your enemies if you come in on a flank or catch weak troop enemy troop types, the Javelinmen can probe, harass and run away from anything too scary (except mounted in the open). MI or LMI can ZOC heavier troops from Orchards, Gullies, etc. and drop their cohesion in a flank attack if combined with a frontal attack. Four is a decent sized force as it can ambush in one marker and surprise someone who thinks it might be a lone Light Infantry or empty marker. |

Comprehensive! Worth several re-reads. Thanks Kevin. _________________ "When one goes, one must go with style." |
