Another query.
P35 penultimate bullet - A unit does not exert a ZOC when in terrain that penalises it in combat.
Consider a situation where a medium swordsmen is entirely inside a forest but within 1UD of the front of a heavy cavalry unit entirely outside the forest. So the infantry do not exert a ZOC on the cavalry, but the cavalry do exert a ZOC on the infantry.
Correct? |

Why don't the cavalry get a ZOC? They're not in any terrain that disadvantages them. Is this a translation error? |

Okay so the cavalry do get a Zoc up to the forrest.
But one is making oneself look foolish to extend it further. _________________ Player 747 don't call me Jumbo |

I agree 100% the cavalry shouldn't get a ZOC, but I don't think its foolish to ask where the rules say that. The rules appear clear they do. I'm hoping someone can point out a rule that stops the ZOC. |

The rule you are looking for is cunningly hidden in the FAQ
Page 35
8th Bullet  point  should  read
“A unit  does not  exercise  a  ZoC  in, into  or from  terrain  that  penalizes  it  in combat."Â
Does that help at all?Â

I spent 10 minutes scouring the rules to try to find this today. And looked in the FAQ too.
It was not in the FAQ, it is in the rules amendments as quoted by Tim.
And the reason I could not find it in the rules is that although I entered all the amendments into my rule book I somehow missed that one.
at least I had remembered seeing it here and we played it right this week, so we got that going for us. |

It is confusing having the "official Amendments' and also the FAQ which has amendments in it to be fair.
I guess though this is 3rd Ed for the French its just the English 1st Edition so hopefully when we get a new edition this will be sorted out...and then we can find a whole heap more things that need changing |
