Rule p17 says: Impact applies against EVERYONE.
Ref. sheet section "Impetuous" states an exception: ...unless charging front edge of Medium or Heavy Swordsmen.
Is this exception final?
Or do Medium Spearmen*, Heavy Spearmen* and Pikemen* cancel as well the impact of Impetuous (e.g. Heavy Chariot impet.)?
(* see Characteristic Table on Ref. sheet) |

Impetuous swordsmen get Impact unless they_charge the front of enemy non impetuous swordsmen. That’s the key rule here - it’s about impetuous troops “free†Impact, not just any “impact†troops ImpactÂ
Mounted Impact also is cancelled by spear and pike if the mounted are charging them frontally too. _________________ www.madaxeman.com |

Thank you very much.
My question was rather related to Heavy Chariot impetuous.
The section "Impetuous" in the Ref. sheet would be clear if it says: "...unless non-impetuous swordsmen charged in front by enemy mounted as well." |

I think you are highlighting that foot with impact / impetuous keep their “impact†if charged by mounted that are not impact / impetuous.Â
This is implied by the absence of that option in this section of the rules, though I agree it could be clearer.Â
However this would not apply in your particular case if the heavy chariots are impetuous; these are only impeded by heavy spears . . . |

The QRS is a little too “Q†on this section I agree. The main rules are however clear, and the alternative QRS on the site is also better and more complete. Â
I think it tended to be one of those rules that people quickly learn anyway, so the QRS wording becomes moot pretty soon in your learning curve. _________________ www.madaxeman.com |
