In preparation for the upcoming Kozcon tournament, Dennis and Al asked me to join them at On Military Matters a couple of practice games.
This is the second part of that double header.
Its Medieval Polish vs Tuareg.

Thanks. I love these battle reports, seeing what works and does not work for other players is great! |

Thanks for writing this up.
A hard lesson, but now something I know too.
It was also interesting to see the war wagons holding out.
Have you found that allowing your opponent to dismount a significant disadvantage? |

The Pole should have replaced ALL 4 MC crossbowmen with Hc Impact and use 4 MC javelin* instead, perhaps even with a ordinary lithuanian general included.
and he should use more LC bow or javelin instead of those Li.
In addition he should use the 2 warwagon in the center to devide the battlefield into 2 sectors.
..an offensive flank for his Medium Knights and HC impact
and a defensive flank for his MC javelin and LC + fire support from those warwagon.
I am not sure about the single element of HSpearmen 1/2 crossbow.
The Pole could have won if he would have been able to destroyed the enemy Medium Swordsmen.
The Tuareg Player should use 4 Medium Swordsmen in his army list. They are always a very useful reserve BEHIND the camelry or to fight against enemy bowmen in fields |

That's very prescriptive and easier said than done @Alexander.

This is discussed in the battle report... |

I can agree that HC Impact would have been more effective in this game. But the army was more tuned for tournament play where facing knights was more likely. The following week it was pitted against Burgundian Ordinance for example.
MC Javelin? I hadn't thought of that. There is potential there for better shooting.
The 1/2 crossbowman/spear is designed to keep units from getting around the war wagons. An enemy Light Horse would be subject to a number of +1 shots. It's a great support unit that cannot be ignored. _________________ Phil
