|
I have a couple of questions bout the Uncontrolled Charge Example on page 42. You will have to look at the picture to understand the questions.
The example says that C will charge X2 because it does not want to charge the elephant to its front. Doing so breaks through L1 which is on its right flank. Why, Can it not wheel to charge X2? If it has something to do with the Elephants ZOC would the wheel be legal if the Elephant were farther away?
D then charges X2 (the example makes it obvious that C has already done its move). Since C has made contact with X2 D could not contact it. Would D not move into overlap to support L2? E and F would similarly have to change their move. |

Hope you don't mind me adding my own query to this thread as I was about to ask exactly the same as well as:
- A and B seem to uncontrolled charge as a group (which isn't mentioned) is that why A can move into overlap?
If A moved first then it should contact the front of X1 I think.. but it seems that because they move together B may contact instead and A can go along to support - is that what's happening?
Also, F moves to be as close to the target as possible. But, on page 40, bullet #10 "if contacting enemy is not possible, the unit do[es] not make an uncontrolled charge" - so F should not move, correct? |

The example looks a bit flaky. |
