I have a Macedonian army list (no. 39) which can have Thessalian allies from the Hellenistic Greek list ( no. 60). List 60 has some core troops , inc hoplites, listed, but says that separate Corps within the army can be composed of troops of a particular nationality; eg Spartan, Thessalian, Aetolian; each of which would be treated as an Allied Corps.
Since the Thessalian Corps part of the list comprises only cavalry/LH and Li/LMI, does that mean that if I choose a Thessalian Allied Corps for my list 39 army, that I only need to select cavalry/LH and LI/LMI, and I do not need to select at least three Hoplites from the core troops?

Hiya.
sadly not. You have to take the core units, modified by the specific troups of the city you want to choose. So yes, you have to take some hoplites. On the other hand, you will have an interesting allied corps, with a combined arms organization.
I've been eyeing this Thessalian combination too, plus other interesting bits.
