|
hi guys
with the v4 now introducing simple and melee support there might be a anomaly in the pursuit. P69 bullet points 6 and 7.
point 6. supporting friendly units can pursue...... this i assume means friends in simple support, since melee support by their very term cant be aligned corner to corner with main unit.
point 7. "if several units are in melee...." ??? now with the introduction of the melee support definition there is only one "the main unit" in melee, (P60 third para MELEE). so this bullet point doesnt make sense.
how does a unit that charged into the flank of a melee pursue?
it cant under point 6, not aligned
it cant under point 7, there is now only the main unit that counts as in melee
as ever i assume that i have missed something somewhere, would be grateful if someone can point me in right direction

Hi Frazer,
you haven't missed anything.
The powers that be know about it (see the earlier thread about Pursuit) but have a lot on their plate just now.
You're right that "support" in bp 6 can only be "simple support."
While waiting for confirmation we're reading bp 7 as if "or melee support" is inserted after "in melee" as a sensible solution.
Cheers,
