Do players use fortified Camps? Are they worth the cost? When deploying a fortified camp do most players put them on the baseline like an unfortified camp or do you use them tactically as a piece of terrain?

Fortified camps are sometimes OK IMO.

Mostly this is about using them as a piece of terrain and I generally only do this as part of army designed to at least sometimes take advantage of that.

I generally would rather have the 6AP in troops rather than tthe camp. 6AP represents an addition 1 LI (making up the extra BP from the camp) and upgrading one element to elite or armourerd.

Try defending a camp against a stray light horse.
Depends on your army composition.
Smaller armies or foot based armies may benefit from a fortified camp.
Do you need an insurance policy?

Maximum size is not good . Gets in your way if you need to redeploy and allows more enemy to contact, improving opponents chances of destruction.

They are helpful and provide some very modest "ploys"

Mostly they are helpful facing mounted foes where you can let a loan LH go raiding into your rear.

In v3 I took a all foot army and a large Fortified camp. Vs TImurids I placed it in, and left one foot unit to sheer off with a flank charge anyone who hit it.

The other thing to remember is all camps are still impassable after looting.

But generally I agree with above comments. I tend not to take.
