If impetuous troops dismount, are they still impetuous on foot?
For example, impetuous medium knights dismount as either armoured heavy swordsmen, 2HW or as armoured heavy spearmen. Would the spear or swordsmen still be impetuous?

Only for Medium Camels, as this is spelled out in their dismount type description. Dismount types are exactly as specified on page 21.
Impetuous dismounts have largely disappeared in v4, which is not a bad thing IMO as some of the dismount options under v3 were better than any actual proper infantry ! _________________ www.madaxeman.com |

Agreed Tim.
P21 details how cavalry and knights dismount, specifying the various infantry types to be used. These definitions are overridden by notes at the bottom of some lists, specifying that particular Impetuous cavalry dismount as impetuous infantry. In all other cases (other than camels) Impetuous mounted will dismount as 'regular' infantry. Indeed this theme is demonstrated in some of the later lists where a given entry has a 'regular' foot knight option together with an impetuous mounted heavy knight. |

Further question on dismounting regarding cavalry with impact and 1/2 bow.
Medium cavalry fairly clearly have the option of dismounting as medium or heavy spearmen. But not so clear for heavy cavalry - it could reasonably be read that heavy cavalry also have that option, or that they can dismount as heavy spearmen only.
The former makes more sense to me. But........ |

If they have a missile weapon then they can dismount as M Sw + M Support otherwise as H Sp or H Sw only it looks like.
The MC an HC are clearly in separate sections none of the MC options apply to HC. |

I think you're looking at the wrong paragraph. There is a paragraph specifically for Cv impact/bow that clearly states an option (for medium CV at least) of MSp or HSp. |

Oh hmmm I see what you are getting at.
I think I would tend to go with no med sp option for HC there as it parallels the previous bullets. |

This is one of those where punctuation can change the whole meaning. But the punctuation is missing. |

Pretty sure that heavy cavalry with impact/bow can only dismount as heavy spearmen with missile support. This is similar to heavy cavalry impact, who are also only allowed to dismount as heavy spear. |

yep
Philosophically it is clear that in V4, cleaning up dismounting was a goal. The objectives were to loosen and make it viable for most, but cease the egregious flexibility of previous editions. |
