For knights (MK or HK) to dismount their opponent must have
1. Deployed elephants, fortifications or stakes ?
and/or
2. Dismounted knights must be an option in their army number for the list time chosen ?
3. Do impetuous knights remain impetuous ?
So the questions are -
Is it 1 AND 2 or 1 OR 2.
Do impetuous knights remain impetuous

If either of 1 or 2 apply the knights may dismount. However:
1 also includes War Wagons. (P21)
2 requires the Mounted and Foot Knights in the list to be the same units (P21 Conditions for dismounting, 3rd bullet). E.g. List 249 (Medieval Hungarian) The Hungarian Nobles are only listed as mounted whilst the Bohemian and German Knights are listed as Mounted or Foot Knights. The Germans can dismount but the Hungarians can't.
Foot Knight are not impetuous. P21 lists the troops that retain impetuosity when dismounted. |
