Its not clear the tournament spreadsheet works correctly for a draw result where one side has a flank march that hasn't arrived. For that army the army size should not include the missing flank march command, which affects the scores for both sides. Had this come up in a small club tournament, and I just did a local tweak.
I don't imagine this happens frequently, but would be nice to have a fix. |

Hi Alan....has this actually happened or is this a purely hypothetical result?
Step 1 - Temporarily reduce the 'points value' of the affected army and calculate the points which should be awarded to each player
Step 2 - Bring the 'points value' of the affected army back to its regular value
Step 3 - By trial and error adjust the 'losses' column until each player receives the correct number of points. |

I suspect the Adjustment Points column could be used for this sort of thing
The macros and formulae in the sheet are complicated enough already, without adding anything else ! _________________ www.madaxeman.com

For step 3 you could use the Adjustment column in the Umpire Zone to correct the points.
Beaten to it! |

Yes this actually happened. I had no problem fixing the scores. Just raising it as it could happen in another tournament and the incorrect score calculation not noticed. |

So what’s the rule on this. The FM units don’t count towards the denominator for scores?
So if you have 20 units and 5 FM and you lose 5 CPs you’ve lost 33% instead of 25%? |

Correct Kevin; The size of the army (it's cohesion value) is the number of units that have been deployed on the battlefield up to that point. This excludes units in a Flank March which has not arrived, and those hidden in Ambush which has not been revealed.
Using your example, while the player may have paid for 20 units, up until the Flank march arrives the army cohesion is 15. If it has lost 5 points, that is 33% of the army cohesion.
This aspect is a bit fiddly and could easily be overlooked by less experienced players when filling out their score sheets. Ideally the player scoresheet needs to contain a box for "on-table units" and a second for losses incurred so that the organiser can then go through the process of adjusting the army size as Longtooth describes.
(Potentially the spreadsheet could be altered to include a further column indicating the on-table cohesion value. However that would need to be ratified by the DT and applied worldwide to ensure it doesn't screw up the championship tables etc . . . .) |
