Query came up in a club game last night. A column of Levy (HI) wanted to expand out. They were outside 4UD of all enemy, so initial thought was their movement allowance was 3UD. However last bullet of Movement Allowance (P29) states
"Heavy infantry in open terrain may advance 3UD instead of 2UD if it starts its movement in the operational zone"
An expansion is a manouver and, arguably, not an advance. Ofcourse this could be a translation issue and 'movement allowance' should have been used rather than 'advance'. So is their movement allowance 3UD or 2UD? |

| I think this came up before and it was decided any movement was advance for the purpose of this rule so their movement allowance is 3 UD. |
