I know it sounds like a rerun of one and two weeks past, but despite an abundance of cavalry and cataphract based armies present, all my Phyrric army got to phase were Romans.

Thanks for the write up!

It is interesting to see that the Roman vs Phyrric games are tending toward being close.
A historical result if you ask me!

I have also found that mass pike are often avoided and difficult to bring to bear, in multiple rulesets.
If I tweak a list after games I often end up with a small core/backbone of pikes (3-5 units in ADLG terms) to scare or occupy the enemy while other troops (something aggressive) do the actual work.

The problem with this approach is the supporting troops you are bulking up on are usually not quite as good or numerous as those of the enemy and your army loses when your opponent mangles your cavalry and lighter infantry….
