If there are only 4 bases in the command say and all are in the ambush would it then be up to your opponent to decide if there is a flank march or if they are in ambush? |

Leaving aside the debate over the commander unit (I usually have an integral commander), an entire corps of four units in ambush is a great way to confuse the opponent.Â
Remember to declare the ‘off-table’ corps when dicing for it to be clear what happens if you throw a “1†or a “6â€.Â
Otherwise this leaves the opponent eyeing up either flank as well as the ambush marker (ideally behind a strategically placed hill) which will potentially make him cautious. |

As stated, i usually say "this is the roll for the Corps you cannot see."
Then if its a "1" on the first turn, i say we will note that to see if it matters. There is no requirement to confirm that it is or is not an allied or unreliable Corps if they cannot see the units.
Then if it is a die roll that would successfully activate a flank march arrival you must declare if that is a successful roll. IE if you roll that a flank march would be coming on, and it is really an ambush. You must state that the die roll does not bring on a flank march. Ambush remains governed by normal ambush rules. |

Surely you don't have to state that as the flank march doesn't arrive until the next turn? |

If you make a successful roll for the flank march to arrive next turn you must inform your opponent which flank it will arrive on.
