Following last years Elephant fest this year will be a Chariot fest!
I have just had the dates confirmed as July 19/20 2025, usual venue of Devizes School.
I currently have no details of cost, how to obtain tickets etc and will post when the details have been confirmed.
For the 25/28mm competition
Armies to be 200 points in 25/28mm, using 60mm frontage, latest rules and official clarifications/errata. 6 x 4 tables, two games each day. Supply own terrain and If possible bring your own playing cloth.
Chariot based armies, no Elephants. Only armies that have at least one compulsory Light and/or Heavy chariot in their list, (excludes scythed chariots). The army must have at least half the compulsory number of Light/Heavy chariots available (note several lists have date restrictions on choice) to the maximum. Any ally chosen does not contribute to the number but each ally is bound by the same selection rules if it can have chariots.
possible armies are (there may be others that I have missed!)
1 -16, 20 - 27, 29 - 33, 36 - 37, 54, 57, 58, 64 - 66, 72, 78 ,-80, 89, 98, 99, 116,

Don't understand:-
"At least half of the compulsory number of chariots available"
All compulsory are compulsory. Shirley?
What were you trying to say? An example perhaps?
Edit. Even more confusing 15 of those lists don't have compulsory chariots. _________________ Player 747 don't call me Jumbo |

sorry if the post is not clear.
I used the word compulsory as any army used must contain at least 1 chariot.
eg if there army list says 0 - 4 chariots the army fielded must contain 2 - 4 chariots
if the army list says 4 - 12 chariots then the army fielded must contain 6 - 12 chariots
sorry for any confusion

Army 79 may also be an option, as I believe (& stand to be corrected) that the 2 Compulsory elephants can be replaced by 2 (or even 3) WarWagon Blades? _________________ 'He could have lived a risk-free, moneyed life, but he preferred to whittle away his fortune on warfare.' I think its likely to be either on Eventbright (where you can buy your tickets) or on the Devizes Club website. _________________ 'He could have lived a risk-free, moneyed life, but he preferred to whittle away his fortune on warfare.' Xenophon, The Anabasis |

Any 'news' on when lists for both 28mm and 15mm competitions are required?
And to whom they must be sent?
Thanks

To answer my own question - checking the Devizes Club Website and Eventbrite:
28mm Army lists to be submitted to Andrew Whitby by 4 July 2025: clevedoncrusaders@virginmedia.com
15mm Army lists to Colin Cavenagh by 4 July 2025: colin_cavanagh@yahoo.com

That feels like a hitchhikers guide to the galaxy posting.

I tend to get most of my ADLG info & news from this marvelous forum (not being a user of Facebook) ... hence my initial thought that maybe I'd missed something obvious.
I've even found the answer to the question of "life, the universe, and everything" here _________________ 'He could have lived a risk-free, moneyed life, but he preferred to whittle away his fortune on warfare.' Xenophon, The Anabasis |

Info below from email sent out by Andy Whitby to 28mm competitors:
Hi all
In the absence of any different information from the organizers, I plan to keep arrangements the same as last year, at the moment I am assuming we will use the same hall as last year but that may be subject to change!
Last Years communication from Organizers:
"Club members will be on site from 8am so I have said to anyone who asked me to arrive in time to anticipate a 9.30 start.
You will be playing in the hall near the B&B hall rather the one use last year on the way into the school.
We need to be out by 5ish on Saturday and 4.30 Sunday
Canteen with hot drink sand snacks - no sandwiches this year - and a burger fast food van on site plus an optimistic ice cream van.â€
My plans are for all 4 games to be 150 minutes plus a maximum of a further 15 minutes, no new pair of move sequences to start after the 150 minute mark and an absolute cut off (dice down) after the extra 15 minutes, this means the defender should always have the last move.
Slightly more shopping time/chatting to friends on Saturday with an aim for an earlier start and finish on Sunday (this should allow a bit of extra time for those with longer journeys home)
Saturday
Registration from 0930 hrs
Game 1
start 1000 hrs
end 1230 hrs
cut off 1245 hrs
Game 2
start 1345 hrs
end 1615 hrs
cut off 1630 hrs
Sunday
Game 3
start 0945 hrs
end 1215 hrs
cut off 1230 hrs
Game 4
start 1315 hrs
end 1545 hrs
cut off 1600 hrs
Prizes: 1601 hrs
Can I remind you to bring a cloth/mat if available and the terrain you will need

Thanks Mark. I assumed the 15mm competition times were the same as the 28mm but perhaps not then... |

I'm afraid so Richard ... I expect young Colin will send out small urchin runners (in shorts & knee-length socks - stating things like "gor blimey govner, gawd bless ya!" etc. - with hand written messages ... it seems like his sort of thing.
But I'd suggest you take the cautious approach and arrive early, specifically to sample the delights of the 'Attack!' Bring and Buy stall - always lots of good bargains on sale (many of them mine)
Cheers
